Hummm... that is nice to know. I wonder if we all can take advantage of their student discount. Well, I better not say that too loud... American Airlines might hear me and decide that they want to implement some policy changes. :)

Hi Richard,
I got a chance to read your post today... that experience would have given me a headache. If booking flights through their site is so cumbersome, then folks will move on to the next online agent... which is not good for business. Hopefully they have taken some steps to address the issues you mention.
By the way, thanks for leaving your comment.

I used American Airlines to book my friends and I flights to England, and they never even asked for student identification or e-mail!

It is definitely worth checking out these student travel agencies -- often for international travel, and sometimes for domestic travel, they offer great deals. Personally, I have had great luck with StudentUniverse.com, while STATravel has been nothing but problematic for me. Most of the time I can't even get STATravel.com to work for me.

I actually wrote a similar post on this not too long ago, over at http://www.studentscrooge.com/2008/06/12/student-ticket-agencies/.
