My goodness PFA! I have been a busy bee lately. I’ve been vacationing, blogging, shopping, wedding planning, gardening, working, parenting, wife-ing… just plain busy! It’s amazing that I have time to do anything else. And some days, I don’t have time to do anything else.
Even with my busy schedule I make it my point to have a sit down family dinner at least 4 days a week. Usually I try to spice it up a bit. I like to experiment on my family with new recipes that I find at my favorite cooking site. I love the recipes I find on there. The meals are light and healthy. The kids sometimes put up a lil fuss. If it were up to them we’d eat hamburgers and pizza every night… but lucky for my waist, it’s not up to them.
However lately, since I have been so busy… they have been getting their way with the dinner menu. Two nights last week, we ordered take-in pizza. That is not typical for us. Normally, we only do the pizza thing about once a month.
But I hate to admit it, today was another pizza night. My excuse – I had a class to attend tonight. I had planned to prepare a 30 minute quick and easy dinner. (Seriously, I did!) But by the time I got home the DH had already ordered pizza. He said that our daughter asked for pizza. Let him tell the story… he said he responded with a firm “no”.
But he is such a sucker for his baby. All she had to do was give him some adorable cute eyes and say daddy please. I am sure he was on the phone with Papa John’s before she even finished getting all of her sob words out.
Well that is how I think it went anyway. I don’t know. I was not here. And he won’t fess up as to how he let a
6 year old trick him into doing something that he was so firmly opposed to. Whatever she did, it worked… cause there is cold Papa John’s pizza sitting on the dining room table.
And get this, not only is there Papa John’s pizza on the table, but there are also Buffalo wings, Cheesesticks, Cinna Swirl Sweettreats and a 2 liter Coke. All ordered by a man who firmly said no. Boy, our daughter is good. She is real good! LOL! At this moment she is lying in bed with a belly full of pizza and sweettreats… sleeping and snoring… probably dreaming about being Hannah Montana or London Tipton (or whatever it is that 6 year old girls dream about…) while there is a enough food left over on the dinner table to feed about 6 more people… all purchased by a man who firmly said no.
But what can I do? She did what she was supposed to do… got what she wanted out of her daddy. And the DH did what he was supposed to do… caved in under the pressures of his daughter saying please.
Although the DH can be a sucker for our 6 year old, he was not a sucker for Papa John’s prices. Actually, he got a pretty good deal on that big ole’ trough of food that’s sitting in the dining room. I am going to eat some cold pizza, but before I go I’ll show you how you can spoil your kids with these Papa John’s specials:
