Citibank, like its competitor Capital One, makes a point of offering multiple credit card products. At last check, Citibank actually had thirty-two card options. With so many choices available, it can be difficult to pick the right card to meet your needs. Let’s look at some of the more popular Citibank credit cards to give you a better idea of your options.
Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card. This is Citibank’s flagship reward card. It has a variable APR that can come in just under 12% based on your credit history and application. There’s no annual fee associated with this Mastercard. You earn “Thank You Points” at the rate of five per dollar on grocery, gas station and drugstore purchases for the first year. After that, they accumulate at the same dollar per point as all other purchases. You can redeem your reward points for travel, tickets to sporting events, consumer electronics and other items.
Citi PremierPass Card. This is one of the Citibank credit cards designed for those with above-average credit. The variable APR can be as low as 9.94% based on your application information and credit history. This card also has a rewards component. You can earn points based on airline miles when you purchase a ticket using the card. You accumulate additional points at a rate of one per dollar for all other purchases. Citibank will also give you 10,000 bonus points if you make more than $300 worth of purchases during the first three months of having the card–that’s enough for a $100 gift card!
Citi Professional Cash Card. This is a MasterCard option that can only be used for business purchases. It features a 0% APR for the first six months. The rate then moves to 12.24%. The Citi Professional Cash card provides a 1% cash back bonus on all purchases with additional cash back on qualified purchases for up to twelve months.
Citi Secured MasterCard. Not all Citibank credit cards are for those with better than average credit. This card, which is secured via a deposit into a Citi CD, allows you to build (or rebuild) your personal credit history. It carries a 13.24% variable APR and requires a $29 annual fee. Citi promises a “competitive annual interest rate” on your certificate of deposit and advises cardholders that they may be eligible for an unsecured card after eighteen months of maintaining the secured card.
Citi Chairman American Express Card. Few cards targeted toward high-end travelers can rival this card. The low 11.24% APR is nice, but the perks are even nicer. Membership comes with around-the-clock concierge services, that will help you with everything from gift ideas to car and hotel rentals. You automatically become a member at the Priority Pass airport lounge and qualify for numerous upgrades and savings. That’s in addition to snagging all of the benefits that go with being in the Hilton HHonors Gold VIP club. All of that personal attention and assistance does come with a price tag, however. You’ll need to pay $500 per year in annual fees.
Sears Card. Many people don’t realize that the Sears store credit card is part of the family of Citibank credit cards, but it is. Cardholders can use their account to make purchases at Sears, Land’s End, K-Mart and other select retailers. They also get exclusive financing offers for big ticket items and special sales offers. This is only one of many store-specific cards issued by Citibank.
With thirty-two available cards, it’s hard to imagine not finding a Citibank option to fit your needs. As you can tell from these examples, you can find Citibank credit cards for just about every set of preferences. Check out their cards and find the best credit card for you.
